Alyssa Penman
I'm Alyssa Penman, an artist, maker, writer, and community builder based in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. I create under the name Petits Morceaux Art, which means "little pieces" in French.
That idea guides both my work and my view of the world. Through fiber art, collage, assemblage, and mixed media, I bring together fragments—found objects, fabric, memories, stories, and moments of everyday beauty—to create something new.
My creative life has grown alongside years of work in community building, education, nonprofit leadership, and the arts. Those experiences have shaped my belief that creativity is deeply connected to belonging, restoration, and human connection.
Many of my pieces explore themes of home, faith, memory, and the beauty found in overlooked things. I am drawn to materials with a history and to the stories they carry. Creating art is my way of paying attention, finding meaning in small details, and bringing separate pieces into a larger whole.
As an active member of the New Kensington arts community and Alloy 13 Artisans, I believe art should be welcoming, accessible, and woven into everyday life. My hope is that each piece brings a sense of connection, curiosity, and beauty to the spaces where it lives.
